LONDON: Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Wednesday following a surge in Asia on hopes of a breakthrough in the US-China trade war.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index advanced 0.3 percent to 7,155.94 points compared with the close on Tuesday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index gained 0.4 percent to 11,174.85 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.3 percent to 5,071.54.
