Reiterating that Pakistan wants to de-escalate the tensions with India, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan doesn't want to escalate and never wants to be in a hostile situation.

Speaking to CNN's Christiane Amanpour, foreign minister said that Pakistan is releasing the captured Indian pilot Abhinandan as a good will gesture. Asked if he could envision an all-out war between Pakistan and India, the foreign minister replied, "I hope not. That would be mutual suicide".

Responding to the question on location of Jaish-e-Muhammad's chief Masood Azhar, Qureshi said, "He is in Pakistan, according to my information. He is very unwell. He is unwell to the extent that he cannot leave his house. That is the information I have."

When asked why Pakistan does not arrest the leader ill or not ill, Qureshi replied that, "If they [India] give us evidence which is acceptable to the courts of Pakistan, after all we will have to justify they will have to go to court and if they have solid inalienable evidence shared with us, so that we can convince the people and we can convince the independent judiciary of Pakistan". He added that there is a legal process and one has to satisfy that legal process.
