'Plant for Pakistan' drive continues in city

JHELUM: Chief Conservator of Forest, Northern Zone, Athar Shah Khagga has said that under the supervision of Forest Department North Zone Rawalpindi, at least three million saplings were being planting in 'Plant for Pakistan' drive.

He expressed these views in a meeting with Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jhelum, Muhammad Saif Anwar at his office here on Thursday.

DC said that with the collaboration of Forest Department, district administration would fully participate in 'Plant for Pakistan' drive and for this purpose 36,300 saplings were planted in Bajola forest.

Like other parts of globe, International forest day would be celebrated in Pakistan and different type of saplings would be planted and the Forest department would take responsibility to look after these saplings, he added.

On this occasion, Conservator Forest Rawalpindi South Circle, Saqib Mehmood, Divisional Forest Officer, Malik Sajid Qadoos, and others officers were also present.
