Punjab to emerge as hub of economic activities
LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal on Monday said that establishment of special economic zones (SEZs) was a marvelous initiative for promoting industrial sector as Punjab would emerge as hub of trade and economic activities.
Along with new SEZs, the old industrial zones would also be upgraded to ensure establishment of more industries, he maintained.
Talking to a delegation of investors at Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) here, he said the Punjab government would facilitate the business community as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) believed in practical measures.
He said that no hurdle would be tolerated in the process of promoting business activities, adding that during the next five years, the target of creating 10 million employment opportunities would be met through promotion of investment and industries.
The minister said that a new system would be introduced to eliminate the red-tapism for establishing new industries.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the PTI government was working day and night to steer the country out of economic crisis, he added. A new era of development will be started soon and the quality of life of the low-income families would also be improved, the minister said.
The delegation thanked the Punjab government and said that the conducive atmosphere was being provided to them.
