HAMBURG: The Ethiopian government has issued an international tender to buy about 400,000 tonnes of milling wheat, European traders said on Monday.
The tender deadline is April 19.
Shipment is two months after contract award, traders said. Four consignments of 100,000 tonnes were sought.
Ethiopia continues to feel the impact of a drought that has devastated farms in some regions.
The country has a large wheat import programme to cool domestic prices, but has struggled to get some purchases completed because of contractual disagreements.
Ethiopia's last reported wheat purchase was 400,000 tonnes in February.
