Mikaal Zulfiqar calls out Bollywood for misusing Pakistani artists
Slamming Bollywood film industry for tricking Pakistani artistes into doing anti-Pakistan or anti-Islam roles, Pakistani actor Mikaal Zulfiqar has clarified that when he signed Akshay Kumar’s ‘Baby’ he didn’t know it was against his country.
In an interview to an online publication Very Filmi, Mikaal said that India has always been misusing Pakistani artists and has been putting them into controversies. “When I signed ‘Baby’ I specifically asked them whether there was anything against Islam or Pakistan, and they said there isn’t when in fact the whole film was against them both", he said.
"As I wasn’t in the first half of the film, I had no idea about the script and only learned about the anti-Pakistan thing when the film released. After that, I decided to work only in Pakistan rather than in Bollywood as we do not have any respect there,” he added.
He further said that Bollywood always put Pakistani actors in trouble. He gave an example of Veena Malik’s controversial photoshoot that raised many eyebrows back in 2011.
India has yet again imposed a Ban on Pakistani content and artists from working in India, soon after the Pulwama attack in February this year. Ever since India has falsely blamed Pakistan for the attack, there has been a strain relationship between the two neighboring countries. Pakistan has also banned all the Indian content running in Pakistan.
Mikaal will soon be seen in a patriotic film ‘Sher dil’ along with Armeena Khan. He will be playing the role of Pakistan Air Force officer. The movie will hit theatres on March 22.
