Just like Netflix, Apple’s new TV service to roll out shows featuring superstars

After endless rumors, Apple finally unveiled its TV and news service at its event yesterday and what excited the fans more was that Apple included renowned celebrities to be a part of its original shows.

Apple made headlines yesterday by introducing its all new Apple TV Plus, its ad-free streaming service for which it is also producing plenty of original content. CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple has included Hollywood bigwigs for its content too.

‘Jurassic Park’ filmmaker Steven Spielberg announced a reboot of his classic TV series ‘Amazing Stories’, whereas celebs including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell too will have a new sitcom named ‘The Morning Show’, reported Business Insider.

Oprah Winfrey too took to stage to announce that she too was working on two new shows for Apple TV Plus along with bringing in some form of her popular book club to the service.

‘Aquaman’ star Jason Momoa too along with American actress Alfre Woodard announced to have their own travel show in Apple’s TV service, whereas the famous American-Pakistani stand-up comedian Kumail Nanjiani will host a docuseries ‘Little America’ about immigrants living in the US.

Not only this, a new show for kids from people behind ‘Sesame Street’ was also unveiled, and ‘Star Wars’ director J.J. Abrams and singer Sara Bareilles announced a new show called ‘Little Voice’.

Apple has also made deals for exclusive content with several other producers, actors and other celebs that were present in the star-studded crowd including Chris Evans, aka Captain America, Hailee Steinfeld, Octavia Spencer, ‘Breaking Bad’ star Aaron Paul, and Bill Murray including others.

Also, Apple’s TV update also includes a focus on channels, which Apple calls Apple TV Channels. These include HBO, PBS, CBS, Tastemade, Acorn TV and more, as per The Verge.

Furthermore, Apple also announced its Apple News Plus, the new subscription news service costing $9.99 per month for six people with a free starting month. The service includes access to stories from The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic Magazine, People Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, among other over 300 publications.
