KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday reduced prison term awarded to a convict from 22 years to five years in robbery and terrorism cases.
The court while hearing the appeal filed by Zaheer-u-Din Siddiqui against punishment awarded to him in a street crime case, reduced his prison term from 22 years to five years.
The accused had snatched mobile phone from a student at gunpoint in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on 22 April 2016.
When the police reached the crime sight, the accused had firing on policemen along with his aide.
The court remarked that as there was no previous criminal record found against the accused so the sentence is decreased.
