The family of missing journalist Matloob Hussain Mosvi is still clueless about his whereabouts despite four days since his since abduction by nearly two dozen armed men from his residence in Malir vicinity of the metropolis.

Moreover, it said the concerned police station refused to lodge First Information Report (FIR) against the abduction of the Karachi Press Club (KPC) member and reporter of an Urdu daily.

Minhaj Mosvi, the elder brother of Hussian, told Business Recorder that over a dozen armed men came in few vehicles, and barged into his home at Salman e Farsi society, 50A/364 at around 4 am, held entire family hostaged, and took him away, leaving the family at a state of shock and distress.

They also took under custody Matloob's laptop, mobile phone and purs.

The armed men misbehaved with females and children during their predawn raid, they alleged.

Some sections of media misquoted Minhaj Mosvi the elder brother, that Matloob was picked up for interrogations in a case pertaining to attack on Mufti Taqi Osmani.

Minhaj told media that they don't know who are behind the abduction.

"Matloob is a working journalists associated with Daily Jang. He is the man of liberal thoughts" said Minhaj Mosvi, his elder brother. "We don't know who is behind this forced abduction. We just want our brother back home as earliest as possible, he concluded.”

The forced abduction trigged a strong protest from journalist fraternity as on Tuesday, the KPC and Karachi Union of Journalist (KUJ) organised a demonstration to denounce the abduction the reporter.

Secretary KPC Arman Sabir urged the government to make all out efforts for immediate recovery of Hussain.

KUJ(D)secretary Hamidur Rehman termed the incident as an attempt to suppress media. He called upon the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Army Chief, Sindh Chief Minister and Governor to take up the issue and resolved as soon as possible.

Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Salamn Mujahid, Former KPC secretary AH Khanzada and Amir Latif, senior journalist Faheem Siddiqi and others also attended and addressed the event.
