Xiaomi patents odd smartphone designs with selfie cameras at screen’s bottom
Seems like Xiaomi is trying to take a different approach for front cameras by placing them on the bottom of the screen, according to a new patent filed by the smartphone manufacturer.
New patent filed by Xiaomi shows few renders of the phone featuring odd camera placement. Where the dual-rear cameras are positioned vertically, the same way like many other smartphones, the front facing dual cameras are placed at the bottom instead of the top, spotted LetsGoDigital.

The patent includes two designs for the camera placement. One of the design shows two cameras side by side placed at the bottom-center of the phone’s display. The rest of the screen is edge-to-edge bezel-less display. Also, the back side of this phone is shown to be curved.
The second renders shows a rather weird camera positioning. The two cameras are placed separately at the bottom-right and bottom-left corners on the phone’s display, thus having cutouts at the screen’s bottom sides. The back side of this phone, as compared to the first one, is not curved, noted Android Headlines.
However, since it is just a patent, it is for us to see if such a device ever sees the daylight.
