Shoaib Malik urges cricketers, celebrities to join for the ‘future of Pakistan Football’
Pakistan veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik has urged his fellow cricket mates and his country's celebrates to join forces for the ‘future of Pakistan football.’
In a message on social media, the former captain urged Pakistani cricket stars including Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Babar Azam and others to join together to make an impact for the future of football in Pakistan.
“We need to speak up for the future of Pakistan Football. Together we can make an impact,” tweeted Malik.

The former captain also urged football governing body FIFA, to look into the matter of Pakistani footballers’ participation in FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“Dear FIFA, Pakistani footballers are currently in a limbo in regards to their participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers,” tweeted Malik. “I request the council to look into the matter so our nation cheers for the National team of the fastest growing sports in Pakistan,” he added.

The FIFA Member Associations Committee will meet in Zurich, Switzerland, today to discuss the status of Pakistan football that has been facing legal disputes for a number of years.
