PARIS: European spot power prices for day-ahead delivery nudged higher on Monday supported by a forecast increase in German demand and a slip in French nuclear and wind power generation, while Germany's Cal'20 rose, tracking gains in carbon and coal.

* German over-the-counter spot power contract for Tuesday delivery added 55 cents to 41.50 euros ($46.93) a megawatt hour (MWh), compared with the price paid on Friday for Monday delivery.

* French Tuesday delivery baseload rose 85 cents to 46.60 euros/MWh compared with the Monday delivery price paid on Friday.

* Power consumption in Germany is expected to rise by over 1 gigawatt (GW) to 64.8 GW day-on-day on Tuesday. The average temperature in Germany will rise by 1.2 degrees Celsius, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.

* In France, demand will decline slightly by 570 megawatts (MW) to 54.8 GW as the average temperature is forecast to rise by 2.1 degrees Celsius following a cold spell over the weekend.

* On the supply side, power generation from German wind turbines will increase by 1.4 GW on Tuesday to 16.8 GW, the data showed.

* German solar power supply is forecast to increase by 170 MW to 8 GW.

* French nuclear power availability fell by 1.4 percentage points to 72.8 percent of total installed capacity compared with Friday.

* Wind power supply will fall in France on Tuesday by 1.7 GW to 2 GW, while electricity output from solar panels will decrease by 830 MW to 880 MW, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.

* French utility EDF will kick-off a restructuring plan with a May 28 board meeting to discuss plans for a partial renationalisation of the state-controlled utility's nuclear activities, Le Parisien newspaper reported on Monday.

* On the forward power curve, German Cal'20 baseload power , the European benchmark, added 0.4 percent to 50.60 euros/MWh.

* The equivalent French contract for 2020 delivery dipped nearly 1 percent to 53.60 euros/MWh.

* The Czech year-ahead price gained 1.2 percent to 53.15 euros/MWh.
