KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought a report of detained persons across the country from Ministry of Defence and Interior Ministry until 23rd April regarding the recovery of missing persons.
A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Naimtullah Phulputo hearing petitions about recovery of 40 missing persons remarked that court will announce its decision if report of all persons present in detention centres is not submitted.
The sister of missing citizen, Muhammad Hussain, appeared before the court and stated that her brother’s case was in military court but she was not allowed to met her brother. ‘’We are not being told that about allegation levelled against my brother,’’ she said
The court summoned the attorney general regarding the meeting of family with Muhammad Hussain.
Another petitioner, Dr Abdul Rasheed, head of Islamic studies of Karachi University, stated before the bench that his two sons, both students, have been missing since 2017.
The bench directed the federal ministry of Defence and Interior to provide details of the detained on next hearing.
The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 23th April.
