MEPCO recovers Rs1.34bn from defaulters in March
MULTAN: Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has recovered over Rs 1.34 billion from defaulters during the month of March.
According to MEPCO spokesperson Jamshaid Niazi, the grand operation against defaulters was in progress with rapid pace, adding that sub-divisional, divisional and circle teams were conducting raids following the directions of MEPCO CEO Engineer Tahir Mahmood.
He said that electricity connections of defaulters were being disconnected over not paying electricity bills.
Over Rs 280 million were recovered from running and dead defaulters and deposited into revenue department in Multan circle, adding over Rs 86.4 million recovered in DG Khan circle, over Rs 120 million in Vehari circle, over Rs 150 million in Rahim Yar Khan, over Rs 160 million in Muzaffargarh, over Rs 190 million in Bahawalnagar circle and over Rs 120 million were recovered from Khanewal circle.
MEPCO CEO directed the SEs of all circles to disconnect connections of defaulters without any discrimination in their respective circles.
