Zero tolerance against gas theft, line losses: Petroleum Minister
ISLAMABAD: Petroleum Minister Omar Ayub Khan has said that there is zero tolerance against gas theft and line losses. He was speaking during a briefing at Petroleum Division here on Tuesday.
He said a special task force should be formed to gather data from both Sui Northern Gas Company Limited and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited regarding gas theft cases.
He said protection of national resources is priority of both the gas companies.
Special Assistant on Petroleum Nadeem Babar, who also attended the briefing, said management of gas companies should be proactive in curtailing line losses.
He said Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Pakistan Petroleum Limited need to devise a strategy to reinvigorate oil and gas exploration activities.
Secretary Petroleum Asad Hayaud Din briefed the Minister about oil and gas exploration and production projects. He also updated on LNG covenants, demand of petroleum products, local refineries and their production.
