IMF deal finalized on easy terms: Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Shehryar Afridi Monday said the government had finalized the deal on easy terms and conditions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Talking to media here outside the Parliament House, he said the government was working to utilize the IMF bailout package for structural reforms in the country, adding the previous governments had taken loans just for their personal and political benefits.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, realizing its manifesto, was committed to bring reforms in the prevailing political system and bringing the corrupt elements to justice.
He said the public should give more time for clearing the ills of seven decades.
Afridi said the PTI government had already brought 15 billion dollars from the friends' countries.
He expressed his hope that the economy of the country would improve within a year and all out efforts were underway to put the economy back on track.
He said we have taken several initiatives to improve the economic condition and relieved the visa policy for the foreign investors. The investors are coming to Pakistan and the country’s economy would boost.
The PTI government brought structural reforms in three years of his first tenure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and those reforms had been exemplary for other provinces, he added.
