Opposition coalition meant to safeguard their own interests: Sumsam
RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Pir Syed Samsam Ali Shah Bukhari said the coalition of opposition parties was only meant to safeguard their personal interests.
Addressing a conference held here in a local hotel to observe Youme-e shahadat, death anniversary of Hazrat Ali (AS), he said the opposition had no moral grounds to come to the roads against the incumbent government, adding the opposition leaders had laid the foundation of this unnatural alliance to hide their “blemishes”.
However, he added that the alliance of these parties would have no gains. Sumsam Bukhari said some political figures were afraid that their money-laundering would be disclosed, adding everyone should hold himself accountable for the betterment of the country.
The minister said the controversial tape related to the NAB chairman had been created as a planned move to malign institutions, adding it had been a trait of the opposition to exert pressure on institutions to obtain verdicts of its choice but the government would continue to side by them as a facilitator in the process of accountability.
He said after its failure to satisfy the courts in corruption, money laundering and corruption cases, the opposition had resorted to malign the chairman NAB through circulation of engineered audio-tapes in the media.
He said the PML-N leadership had taken a major U-turn on the issue related to the tape of the NAB chairman.
He said opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif had stated that his party wouldn’t comment over the personal life and act of any person. However, after new dictations from Marriyum Nawaz other have started pointing fingers at the government. Actually PML-N has been divided in two parts of Marriyum and Hamza Sharif, he added.
