SIALKOT: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government was committed to raise the living standard of people of remote areas, ignored in the past regimes, by ensuring easy and smooth provision of all civic amenities at their doorsteps.

She expressed these views while hosting an iftaar party in the honour of orphan children of SOS village at Khambraanwala here on Sunday.

She got mixed up with the children and distributed Rs 5,000 each as Eidi among them on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

On this occasion, talking to media, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the PTI government was successfully implementing its agenda to serve the poor and oppressed class. "Serving humanity is the mission of Prime Minister Imran Khan," she added.

Earlier, the special assistant held an open-court at Koobey Chak village near here.

She listened to problems and complaints of people sympathetically and issued orders on applications for their early relief, compliance and redressal.
