ABIDJAN: Cocoa arrivals at ports in top grower Ivory Coast reached 2 million tonnes between Oct. 1 and June 2, exporters estimated on Monday, up about 13.4 percent from 1.764 million tonnes during the same period last season.
Ivory Coast's 2018/19 October-to-March main crop ended with 1.660 million tonnes on March 31, according to CCC official data.
About 20,000 tonnes of beans were delivered to Abidjan port and 11,000 tonnes to San Pedro between May 27 and June 2 for a total of 31,000 tonnes, equal to 31,000 tonnes during the same week last season.
Cocoa beans arrivals at the ports of Abidjan and San Pedro reached 347,000 tonnes between the start of the mid-crop on April 1 and June 2, up from 270,000 tonnes during the same period last season.
Mid-crop arrivals reached a record of 500,000 tonnes last season and should be higher this season, according to exporters and CCC sources.
