ABIDJAN: Ghana's graded and sealed (G&S) cocoa arrivals reached 751,185 tonnes between the start of this year's harvest on Oct. 1 and May 23, down 4pc on the 779,483 tonnes registered the previous season, figures from marketing board Cocobod showed on Friday.
G&S is cocoa that has been quality checked and sealed in bags by Cocobod and is ready to be shipped.
Cocoa production in Ghana is expected to drop to 850,000 tonnes this season from 900,000 tonnes last season owing to bad weather conditions and swollen shoot disease.
