ABIDJAN: Ghana exported 560,378 tonnes of cocoa beans between the start of this year's harvest on Oct. 1 and April 30, down 1 percent from 587,088 tonnes over the same period last season, Cocobod figures showed on Tuesday.
63,800 tonnes of beans were exported in April, down 33 percent from 94,539 tonnes exported during the same month last season.
Cocobod's target was to have exported 580,000 tonnes of beans by the end of April.
Ghana is the world's second largest cocoa producer after Ivory Coast.
