Romania sells 492.9mn lei of Oct. 2020 bonds

BUCHAREST: Romania sold a more than planned 492.9 million lei ($117.85 million) worth of October 2020 treasury bonds on Thursday at an average accepted yield of 3.42%, central bank data showed.

Debt managers, who had planned to sell 300 million lei, last tendered the paper in December at an average yield of 3.48%. On Thursday, they also sold a more than planned 1.49 billion lei worth of April 2026 bonds.

So far this year, Romania has sold 24.01 billion lei and 506.7 million euros on the local market. It also tapped foreign markets in March for 3 billion euros worth of 2026, 2034 and 2049 Eurobonds.
