Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to ‘fix Pakistan cricket’ hinting at major changes in country's cricketing structure after the team failed campaign at World Cup 2019.

“I have played cricket all around the world and I have seen the most cricketing talent in Pakistan. But because there is no system of merit, we can't bring that talent up. This is why we are not dominating the world because there is no meritocracy,” said Imran Khan in front of a packed house addressing overseas Pakistanis at Washington, United States.

“I have decided to fix Pakistan cricket after the World Cup, as there have been enough disappointments but mark my words the team you would see in the upcoming World Cup would be a better and professional side, we will improve the system so that the best talent of Pakistan comes ahead,” said the former World Cup winning captain of Pakistan.

The PM also applauded the Australian cricket, especially applauding the cricketing structure of the nation which, as per Khan, nurtures talent. “Australia is that team which has been the most successful in cricket; why? This is because Australia has a system that nurtures and lets talent rise,” he said.

PM Khan is on his first official visit to USA where he is scheduled to meet US President Donald Trump on Monday.
