ABIDJAN: Cocoa arrivals at ports in top grower Ivory Coast reached 2.111 million tonnes this season for the period from Oct. 1 to July 21, exporters estimated on Monday, up about 9pc from 1.928 million tonnes during the same period last season.

About 11,000 tonnes of beans were delivered to Abidjan and 8,000 tonnes to San Pedro from July 15-21 for a total of 19,000 tonnes, up from 15,000 tonnes during the same week last season.

Ivory Coast's 2018/19 October-to-March main crop ended with production of 1.660 million tonnes on March 31, according to official CCC data.

Cocoa bean arrivals at the ports of Abidjan and San Pedro reached 509,000 tonnes between the start of the mid-crop on April 1 and July 21, up from 448,000 tonnes during the same period last season.

Mid-crop arrivals reached a record of 500,000 tonnes last season and are expected to be around 600,000 tonnes this season, according to pod counters and exporters.
