HAMBURG: Importers in the Philippines bought about 275,000 tonnes of animal feed wheat expected to be sourced from Australia in a tender which closed on Wednesday, European traders said.
The wheat was bought in five 55,000 tonne consignments for shipment between October and December at around $242, $245, $241, $238 and $237 all per tonne c&f.
Seller was believed to be leading Australian grain export group CBH, traders said.
"It looks like Australia made the sale despite heavy competition from the Black sea region which offered lower prices," a trader said.
