Akram reveals how he would have toppled Kohli, Dhoni on field
Former Pakistan captain and one of the greatest fast bowlers in world cricket, Wasim Akram, revealed how he would have bowled to the likes of modern batting greats Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.
Considered one of the greatest exponents of swing bowling, Akram says he would have gone with reverse swing deliveries to get a wicket when taking on the Indian captain Virat Kohli.
"Okay. It depends on the pitch, on the conditions. If it is reverse-swinging, I would have been comfortable. I probably would have gone around the wicket to Virat and just bowled these away swingers from middle,” says Wasim, quoted ESPNcricinfo. "Easier said than done, though,” added the Sultan of swing.
Meanwhile, it would be ‘outswing yorkers’ for the former Indian captain and probably the best finisher in limited overs cricket- Dhoni. "For Dhoni - I would have bowled out-swing yorkers, not in-swing. Because if anyone bowled in-swing to him, he would have gone there (points to midwicket) with his famous helicopter shot. With the away swinger, I have a chance. Probably he would have top-edged,” says the bowling maestro.
