Not yet applied for Pakistan coaching job, says Misbah-ul-Haq
Dismissing all previous reports as rumors, Pakistan's former captain Misbah-ul-Haq has said that he has not yet applied for the job of national team head coach.
“Whenever I apply, I would definitely resign from the cricket committee immediately,” said Misbah while talking to media on Wednesday. He is currently leading the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) conditioning camp.
Misbah, who is reported to be a strong contender to become the next head coach, is also part of PCB’s three member expert panel alongside Rashid Latif and Nadeem Khan. The panel is responsible to review and finalise the six cricket association sides, which will participate in the upcoming domestic cricket season 2019-20.
Speaking about fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, the former captain said that the speedster was included in the emerging camp, however, the speedster couldn’t make it due to his commitments for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
He further said that the players are improving when it comes to fitness, yet there needs to be work done on several aspects. “I would aim to go for the ideal fitness standards needed for a sportsman.”
Misbah further said that there should be only one captain in all three formats of the game and should only be replaced if proper alternate is available.
