KARACHI: BRINDEX-30 closed on the upper side on Wednesday at 16,559.19 points with a positive change of 35.77 and volume of 92,555,300 shares. High and Low were 16,900.52 and 16,507.03 respectively. Of 30 companies traded, 11 were up, 18 were down and 1 was unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 149,013,370 shares. Total companies traded were 340 of which 151 were positive, 169 were negative and 20 were unchanged.

Cement was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 20,489,600 shares. It was followed by Commercial Banks with a total traded volume of 15,547,200 shares.

The top three advancers were Unilever Pakistan Food Limited with a volume of 20 and price per share of 5,586 (266.00), Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited with a volume of 3,680 and price per share of 2,347.42 (65.77), Wyeth Pakistan Limited with a volume of 250 and price per share of 635 (14.00).

The top three decliners were Nestle Pakistan Limited with a volume of 140 and price per share of 5,873 (-309.00), Colgate Palmolive (Pakistan) Ltd with a volume of 40 and price per share of 1,756.55 (-92.45), Bata Pakistan Limited with a volume of 160 and price per share of 1,242.50 (-22.50).
