Indian middle order batsman Ambati Rayudu has decided to come out of retirement and is now available for selection. The u-turn comes just weeks after his decision to retire in July.

“I would like to bring to your notice that I would like to come out of retirement and play cricket in all formats,” said Rayudu in a letter written to the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), quoted Hindustan Times.

Rayudu thanked former India batsman and Chennai Super Kings teammate VVS Lasman for helping him change the decision to retire.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Chennai Super Kings, VVS Laxman and Noel David, who have been very supportive during the tough time and are instrumental in making me realise that I have enough cricket left in me,” he wrote.

Last month, Rayudu announced that he would retire from all forms on cricket after failing to get selected into India’s World Cup squad, after the Men in Blue preferred all-rounder Vijay Shankar over him.
