KARACHI: President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai and other leadership of the apex trade body has expressed concern over the badly shattered sewerage and drainage systems, and frequent traffic jams.
In a joint statement here on Wednesday, Engr.
Daroo Khan Achakzai, former president FPCCI and Patron-in-Chief of United Business Group in FPCCI, S.M.Muneer, FPCCI Senior Vice President Dr.Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said still there were heaps of garbage accumulated throughout the city creating unhygienic and unhealthy environment for Karachiites.
They also expressed their concern over the regular traffic jam in different parts of Karachi particularly at Jam Sadiq Ali Flyover in Korangi mainly during monsoon rains.
The prevailing condition at Jam Sadiq flyover had badly affected industrial activities in Korangi industrial area.
They said the recent monsoon rains have exposed the capacity and performance of various civic agencies and of the Transport Department.
They said the Industrial areas especially Korangi, Federal B area, New Karachi, SITE area, and Landhi were badly affected.
