ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration will arrange a free dengue awareness medical camp on September 21, at Jandala (village in Sihala).

The camp is being held in collaboration with ‘Sehat Foundation’ to disseminate cleanliness message and precautionary measures to tackle the fatal dengue fever, according to ICT spokesman.

Although there were no dengue outbreak in Sihala but the villagers were in a panic and were visiting to hospitals even on cough, suspecting it to be dengue, he added.

During the activity the patients would be provided with free medical treatment and medicines, besides distribution of mosquito repellents.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat appealed the citizens to keep an eye on junkyards, schools and under construction buildings which lead to spread of dengue larvae and leave no place wet or with stagnant water.

Despite transfer of health office from ICT administration to Ministry of National Health, the ICT administration was continuing its efforts to cope dengue within its limited resources, he added.
