‘Gully Boy’ is India’s official entry to Oscars

Zoya Akhtar directorial ‘Gully Boy’ starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, has been declared as India's official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category.
When asked, Zoya on 'Gully Boy' being the official entry for the Academy Awards 2020, the filmmaker said, "This has been a great year and I am so overwhelmed with the response our work is getting. I am thrilled and very grateful that Gully Boy has been picked as India’s official entry for the Oscars. It's crazy to receive such news days after Lust Stories received a nomination for the Emmys," Indian media reported.
Ranveer and Alia also took to their Instagram handle to express their excitement about their film considered for biggest film award. "We are so thrilled that #GullyBoy has been selected as India's official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. Thank you to the Film Federation of India, Aparna Sen, Supran Sen, Anindya Dasgupta, members of the jury and a big congratulations to the spectacular cast and crew," they wrote in a joint statement.
On the other hand, Pakistani film ‘Laal Kabootar’ has also been sent as Pakistan’s official entry for Oscars in the same category.
