  • The Foreign Office on Tuesday rejected Indian army chief's claim about revival of terror camps in Balakot.
  • DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor said India is trying to divert world's attention from terror in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
  • In February, Indian government claimed that they destroyed a terrorist camp in Balakot, but there was no evidence to support their claims.

Pakistan has strongly rejected baseless statement of the Indian Army Chief about reactivation of terror camp in Balakot. While addressing the media, Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal rebutted India’s claim as completely baseless.

Reacting to General Bipin Rawat's remarks that terror camps have been reactivated in Balakot, the FO said India would not succeed in hiding state terrorism in Kashmir by levelling allegations against Pakistan.

According to local media reports, spokesperson Dr Faisal said, "Indian allegations that Pakistan is [trying to] infiltrate [the border] are an attempt to divert the international community's attention from the grave violations in occupied Kashmir”.

In a series of posts on Twitter, DG ISPR General Asif Ghafoor also said that irresponsible statements by Indian military commanders particularly about Azad Jammu & Kashmir are expression of their frustration due to their failure to handle situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

India had conducted failed air strikes in Balakot in February and received a response a day later when Pakistan Air Force brought down an Indian fighter jet with its Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.

However, in a latest statement, Indian Army Chief has once again claimed that Balakot has been reactivated. “Balakot was affected, damaged and destroyed. The action had been taken by the Indian Air Force and now they are reactivated,” he said.

Rawat also said that about 500 infiltrators are waiting to infiltrate into India.
