Chief of his own faction, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has warned the government of dire consequences, if it decides create hurdles to its party's upcoming 'Azadi March'. Fazl was talking to media persons here on Saturday. The JUI-F chief announced that the first destination of 'Azadi March' would be Islamabad. He claimed that people in huge numbers would sweep away the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government and added he would use 'plans B and C' if needed.

He likened his upcoming 'Azadi March' to a "war", which he said would "only end when the government falls". "The entire country will be our war zone," he told reporters at a press conference in Peshawar.

Fazl said they would keep changing strategy to deal with any situation. He insisted that a "flood of people from all over the country" was coming to join the march. "The country's economy has been destroyed while employment opportunities have been brought to an end. We will become the voice of common man and Pakistan, JUI-F chief said. He added: Fresh general election is our demand. Business community is already protesting and time has come to send an "ineligible and illegitimate" government packing. "We are not afraid of arrests as they will worsen the situation. Former president Asif Ali Zardari is supporting the Azadi March," Fazl said.

"The government wants to gain international support by highlighting the madrassah (religious seminaries) issue, he added. Fazl said: "Imran Khan has put Pakistan in trouble by talking about nuclear war. It is a diplomatic failure of Pakistan to indulge in warmongering." Asked whether he has been able to garner the support of other opposition parties, he said, "I hope to see them around."
