  • Ex-captain believes Sarfaraz is not looking confident, which is shown in his batting and wicket-keeping.
  • The former wicket-keeper batsman criticised Sarfaraz's decision to bat at number four against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan cricket captain Sarfaraz Ahmed is facing the heat after the team lost on Wednesday to the inexperienced Sri Lankan side 3-0 in the T20I series.

With the situation getting bleaker for the out of form skipper, Pakistan's former captain Rashid Latif has suggested Sarfaraz to take a break from international cricket to regain his form back. “When you are under pressure, then I believe one should avoid one or two games. This is the same thing I said to Kamran Akmal to take a rest for four, five months but no one wants to take the rest,” said Latif in a video.

Latif also criticized Sarfaraz’s decision to move up the batting order during the third T20I. “Skipper Sarfaraz doesn’t seem confident at all, and is not doing well with the bat as well so going at number four was not a wise decision,” said Latif. The former wicket-keeper batsman further on pointed out that Sarfaraz was also missing the mark with his wicket-keeping, as a number of chances were dropped by him.

Sri Lanka team, despite boosting no star player after 10 of their regular squad members refused to tour Pakistan, managed to achieve their first ever 3-0 clean sweep victory in T20 series over the hosts.

Latif further said that the new management has not gelled well with the players yet, as no player knows whether he would play or not. He also urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to build new pitches.
