Saylani Welfare International Trust (SWIT) has fixed an ambitious target to earn at least Rs10 billion from the export of Information Technology (IT) while 20 Acers of land has been acquired to provide prefabricated houses to the low socio-economic groups.

Addressing a function in Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) here Friday, Maulana Bashir Farooqi Chairman SWIT mentioned about his previous visit and told that at that time he had underlined the growing importance of IT sector. He had established a number of institutions to impart IT training to the students of under privileged class. He told that this experience has yielded best results and they are making IT exports up to Rs4 billion.

He told that in collaboration with government, they will soon increase this export to the mark of Rs10billion. He also pointed out the well developed IT sector of India and told that only the city of Ahmadabad is earning 104 billion from IT export.

He also mentioned his recent visit to President Dr Arif Alvi and told that he had invited 42 IT students of Saylani Trust to President House. He also pointed out his intention to collaborate with Saylani Trust for successful implementation of "Ehsas Programme" launched by present government to control growing ratio of poverty and illiteracy.

Maulana Bashir Farooqi claimed that all IT experts of Saylani Institution are employed, however, local industrialists should also cooperate to provide jobs to the newly passed out students in a planned and scientific manners. He told that currently Saylani Job Bank has 1100 students' CVs pending who need jobs immediately.

Continuing, Maulana told that Saylani Trust had launched its struggle by starting "Free Dastarkhwans" which are successfully working throughout the country. He told that at least 30 "Dastarkhwan" are arranged in Faisalabad. However, now his focus is on provision of education so that the younger generation could be made a productive part of our society. In this connection banners highlighting the importance of education would be displayed on all "Dastarkhwans". In this connection local industrialists must also cooperate with local Saylani Trust.

He further told that 20 acres of land has been acquired where 1000 houses would be built for low income groups. He asked industrialists to provide list of their low paid staff so that they could also be accommodated in this housing scheme. He told that initially they would charge rent but in later phase its property rights would be automatically transferred to its occupants.

Earlier Rana Muhammad Sikandar Azam Khan President FCCI welcomed Maulana Bashir Farooqi and told that FCCI members are also contributing their role in the welfare activities of this city. He assured that cooperation with Saylani Trust will continue in future.

Mian Javaid Iqbal Former President FCCI presented a cheque of Rs100,000 on behalf of vice President Bilal Waheed to Maulana Bashir Farooqi while Rana Saeed Iqbal also made a humble donation.

Mian Javaid Iqbal, Ayub Sabir, Zulfqar Ali, Mirza Haydayat Ullah, Chaudhary Muhammad Asghar, Engineer Rizwan Ashraf and Babar Shahzad took part in the question answer session. Later Rana Sikandar Azam along with Mian Javaid Iqbal presented FCCI shield to Maulana Bashir Farooqi.
