Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah laid floral wreath and offered fateha at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai on the concluding day of his 276th Urs celebrations at Bhitshah on Wednesday. Provincial ministers Makhdoom Mehboobul Zaman, Syed Sardar Shah, Abdul Bari Pitafi and MPA Qasim Siraj Soomro were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the media, CM Shah said being a land of Sufi Saints, Sindh would always remain blessed. Replying a question, he said the present federal government had been doing injustice in every matter with Sindh including NFC Award. He alleged that federal government was also creating hurdles in construction of Indus Highway. He informed that in 2017 the federal government imposed condition on Sindh govt to bear half of the total cost of Indus Highway project then Federal government could build the highway. Sindh government had not been taken on board for the matters pertaining to Sindh province, CM said.
Murad Shah said PPP would keep raising its voice against injustice with Sindh. Replying a question about K-4 Project, he said on 16th Sep 2018 when prime minister was on his first visit to Karachi, a notable person had informed that the planning of K-4 Project was faulty and from that day the construction work on the project remained stopped. He made it clear that we did not approve the planning of K-4 Project, even we raised objections but impressions were given as I was against the development of Karachi, the federal government itself was confused about it, CM said. He admitted that there was a shortage of water in Karachi and the Sindh govt was working on alternate projects of water supply and soon the supply of 185 MGD water would be started. He said we would also try to resolve the K-4 Project issues.
Replying a question about lifting garbage from Karachi, the CM said lifting garbage was not the responsibility of Sindh government but every elected member of Karachi. He admitted the delay in establishing Sufi University at Bhitshah and assured that after resolving issues, the construction work of the varsity would be started.
Replying another question, he said the matter of non-functional RO Plants would also be got resolved soon and added that Sindh Minister Shabbir Bajarani had visited Thar and other places and inspected RO Plants there. He informed that funds of Public Health Engineering had been increased.
To a question about Maulana Fazlur Rehman's sit-in, Syed Murad Ali Shah said PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had already given the party stance on it. He said it was a constitutional and democratic right of everyone to protest and we could not stop people for using this right, it was our responsibility to provide security to protesting people, he said. We would try our level best that people would not be disturbed due to Azadi March of Maulana, he added. The Chief Minister Sindh also heard Shah-jo-Raag and distributed gifts among the deserving women in the courtyard of shrine.
The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Mohammad Abbas Baloch, Chief Administrator Auqaf Sindh Munawar Mehesar, DC Matiari Ghulam Hyder Chandio and others were also present on the occasion.
