Pacer Hasan Ali is likely to miss the series against Australia, as he needs another three weeks to rid himself of the back pain that has plagued him since the off season camp.

Hasan Ali (25) was injured during pre-season training camp and has been sidelined ever since, although, he had been undergoing training under bowling coach Waqar Younis in limited capacity.

Hasan was picked in the Central Punjab team for the domestic season and was expecting to represent the side in the final two matches of the ongoing National T20 Cup. However, he has been unable to shake off the back pain and his doctor has given three weeks for recovery of back pain, sources said.

As a result, Hasan's chances of being picked for the tour of Australia next month are slim to none.

Moreover, Pakistan's bowling coach Waqar Younis is holding a bowlers' camp at the Gaddafi Stadium as a part of preparations of Team Pakistan for upcoming series against Australia.

As many as 15 high-performing bowlers from the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and the ongoing National T20 Cup as well as fast bowlers Mohammad Abbas and Shaheen Shah Afridi were invited for the two-day camp, which is aimed at providing the selectors better insight on the fitness and form of the bowlers that can further assist them while picking the T20I and Test sides.

Waqar Younis said: "As the National T20 Cup has a two-day break, we thought of utilising this time by holding bowlers camp in Lahore with multiple objectives. But, this does not mean that the selectors have limited their selection options to these 11 bowlers. The selectors have an open mind and bowlers who are best suited to the formats and conditions on the upcoming tour will be selected."

Bowlers Bilal Asif, Bilawal Bhatti, Imran Khan Senior, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Irfan Junior, Musa Khan, Mohammad Mohsin, Naseem Shah, Rahat Ali, Sameen Gul, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Tabish Khan, Yasir Shah and Zahid Mehmood are participating the bowling camp which continue on Sunday.
