Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) being observed today
- Emergency Control Rooms have also been established in the main offices of the districts to respond to public complaints.

(Karachi) The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions is being observed across the country today (October 20).
Foolproof security measures have been taken to avert any untoward incident. The district administrations and law enforcement agencies have been deployed on the routes and sensitive locations of the mourning processions while traffic plans have been issued to facilitate the commuters.
Emergency Control Rooms (ECR) have also been established in the main offices of the districts.
The control rooms will perform overall monitoring of the Chehlum processions, besides responding to public complaints.
In Karachi, the main procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park. Small processions will merge into the main Chehlum procession from areas, including M.A.Jinnah Road Empress Market Regal Chowk, Tibet Centre, Eid Gah, Light House, Denso Hall, Boultan Market and areas nearby the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah - Kharadar.
The procession, after passing through its traditional route, will end at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar area.
The Sindh Home department has also imposed a one-day ban on pillion riding across the province on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
