The Karachi Port handled 137,096 tonnes of cargo comprising 104,362 tonnes of import cargo and 32,734 tonnes of export cargo including 3,302 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargos of 104,362 tonnes comprised of 20,990 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,245 tonnes of bulk cargo; 25,004 tonnes of DPA and 57,123 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 32,734 tonnes comprised of 25,842 tonnes of containerised cargo; 150 tonnes of bulk cargo; 6,742 tonnes of clinker and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 3,302 containers comprising of 1,632 containers import and 1,670 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 322 of 20's and 553 of 40's loaded while 24 of 20's and 90 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 567 of 20's and 497 of 40's loaded containers while 45 of 20's and 32 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were four ships namely CSCL Sydney, Kota Gunawan, Stena Premium and Murou carrying containers, mogas and steel coils respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were seven vessels viz. CMA CGM Rabelais, Botany Bay, Kota Gunawan, Al Mahboobah, Crimson Knight, Alrayan and Industrial Ranger carrying containers, chemical, clinker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 181,770 tonnes comprising 160,433 tonnes of import cargo and 21,337 tonnes of export cargo including 3,095 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 160,433 tonnes includes 51,370 tonnes of coal; 8,400 tonnes of palm oil; 1,556 tonnes of LPG; 17,330 tonnes of chemical; 15,000 tonnes of mogas; 29,308 tonnes general cargo and 37,468 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 21,337 tonnes includes 21,337 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 3,095 containers comprising of 1,972 containers import and 1,123 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There were two ships namely MSC Meava and Ocean Beauty carrying containers and coal respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while four more ships namely MSC Pina, Al-Blon Bay, Tomson Gas and UACC Shams carrying containers, steel coils, LPG and Mogas respectively expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of ten vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, steel coils, general cargo, coal, chemical, LPG, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as six vessels viz. Kaptan Arif Bay Paktar, Argent Sunrise, SC Hong Kong, Al Thumma, Atlantic Breeze and Chemroad Journey carrying coal, chemical, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four ships viz. M MSC Valencia, Maersk Atlanta, Argent Sunrise and Al Thumma carrying containers, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There were two ships namely MSC Valencia and Maersk Atlanta carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Gateway carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
