Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Friday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan sent Dr Faisal, a private practitioner, to examine Nawaz Sharif's health, besides issuing directions for providing best medical facilities to the former prime minister.

In a press conference, she said that PM Khan has reiterated that politics should not be exercised on anyone's health. "Politics on Nawaz Sharif's health is not the priority but priority is his health," she said.

Responding to a question, Awan said that the important news came that the Nawaz Sharif has been released on bail. She said that they did not receive the copy of decision of Lahore High Court; however, it shows that the institutions are independent. Earlier, she said that granting bail is the job of courts and not the government and former president Asif Ali Zardari can also move the court if his health is deteriorating. The Lahore High Court approved incarcerated former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's bail petition on medical grounds against two surety bonds worth Rs 10 million. In a tweet, Awan said that the Prime Minister has also ordered the provincial government of Punjab to investigate the weaknesses and flaws of prosecution in leading the case of Sahiwal shooting incident.

In a series of tweets, she said that Pakistan's improvement in the World Bank's ease of doing business ranking is a clear proof of improved business environment. She said that the World Bank's report would also have opened eyes of those who up till now are misleading the public regarding the economy.

She said that it is under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan that the country witnessed a historic improvement of 28 places in the World Bank's ease of doing business rankings. She was confident that steps directed towards ease of doing business will prove to be milestone for investment promotion and industrial development. "The positive indicators in the report will pave the way for a sustainable investment growth," she added.
