Expressing gratitude over the bail of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that Nawaz Sharif's condition is critical and his bail is a wave of happiness for the entire nation.

Talking informally to mediamen, Shahbaz said that he is thankful to the honorable court, their legal team and countrymen. He said that Nawaz Sharif was seriously ill and requested the nation to pray for his health.

Shahbaz hoped that Maryam Nawaz would also get bail on medical grounds. He said that Nawaz Sharif's disease had not been diagnosed but it has been confirmed that he has neither dengue nor reaction of any of the medicines he took for heart disease.

On the other hand, the PML-N workers distributed sweets outside Services Hospital after acceptance of Nawaz Sharif s bail. They also chanted slogans in favour of Nawaz Sharif. After hearing the news of bail, the PML-N workers came on roads and danced to the tune of drums.

Moreover, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz was moved to Services Hospital where she met her ailing father apart from undergoing medical tests. Other members of Sharif family, including Shahbaz Sharif, Nawaz's mother and Maryam's son, were also present in the Services Hospital.

It may be noted that hematologist and bone-marrow transplant expert Dr Tahir Sultan Shamsi had confirmed that the former premier did not have bone cancer, but rather acute Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). He said that the ailment can be defeated with the right medications.

On the other hand, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar contacted Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on phone. During the telephonic conversation, it was decided to utilize all available resources for providing best medical facilities to the former Prime Minister at the Services Hospital.

The Governor and CM also discussed the current situation regarding Nawaz Sharif's health and visit of Maryam at Services Hospital to inquire about the health of Nawaz Sharif. It was also decided that Maryam Nawaz Sharif would be allowed to visit the Services Hospital for inquiring about Nawaz Sharif's health. Sources claimed that the former premier is receiving doses of the IVIG treatment.
