The Karachi Port handled 136,345 tonnes of cargo comprising 80,811 tonnes of import cargo and 55,534 tonnes of export cargo including 4,509 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.

The total import cargos of 80,811 tonnes comprised of 43,280 tonnes of containerised cargo; 702 tonnes of bulk cargo; 22,043 tonnes of DPA and 14,786 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 55,534 tonnes comprised of 26,344 tonnes of containerised cargo; 460 tonnes of bulk cargo and 28,730 tonnes of clinker and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 4,509 containers comprising of 2,712 containers import and 1,797 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 1,076 of 20's and 763 of 40's loaded while 20 of 20's and 45 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 755 of 20's and 466 of 40's loaded containers while 16 of 20's and 47 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were four ships namely Xin Hong Kong, MT Quetta, Serene Sky and Nord Neptun carrying containers, oil tanker, DAP and mogas respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were five vessels viz. MOL Gateway, Star Ploeg, Al Salam-II, Wilton and Industrial Destiny carrying containers, oil tankers, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 155,478 tonnes comprising 133,685 tonnes of import cargo and 21,793 tonnes of export cargo including 2,800 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.

The total import cargo of 133,685 tonnes includes 62,942 tonnes of coal; 14,700 tonnes of palm oil; 5,829 tonnes of chemical; 18,807 tonnes of mogas and 31,407 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 21,793 tonnes includes 21,793 tonnes of containerised cargo.

As many as 2,800 containers comprising of 1,653 containers import and 1,147 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.

There was one ship namely GS Adventure carrying LPG sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely Nagoya Express and Atlantic Breeze carrying containers and mogas respectively expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

There is one ship namely Hugo Schulte carrying containers expected to sail at night hours.

A total number of seven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, chemical, mogas and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as eight vessels viz. Venture Gola, Savita Naree, Ever Progress, SC Hong Kong, Flex Constellation, Gas Amazon, Sloane Square and Admore Express carrying coal, chemical, LNG, LPG, mogas and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were four ships viz. Ever Progress, Savita Naree, SC Hong Kong and Flex Constellation carrying coal, chemical and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Friday.

There was one ship namely Cosco Japan carrying containers due to arrive on Friday, while two more ships namely Cape Male and Happy Helena carrying containers are due to arrive on Saturday.
