The prices of important kitchen items, including vegetable, flour, sugar, fruits, pulses, and others have increased exorbitantly in retail market, according to a survey carried out by Business Recorder here on Sunday.

The survey witnessed the price of ginger has become rampant in local market as available at Rs450 per kg against the price of Rs420 per kg in the previous week. Also, the rates of garlic soared up, which is being sold at Rs350-370 per kg.

Similarly, the upward trend in prices of tomato and onion were witnessed in local market as available at Rs60-80 per kg and Rs70-80 per kg respectively. Likewise, the price of green chili has sky-high in retail market, which is being sold at Rs300 per kg which was selling at Rs100-120 per kg a few days back. Lemon priced at Rs120 per kg.

A sharp increase in prices of other veggies was witnessed, according to the survey. Peas is being sold at Rs150 per kg, arvi is being sold at Rs100 per kg, ladyfinger at Rs89 per kg, apple, long and round gourds are being sold within range of Rs60-70 and Rs80 per kg.

Cauliflower is being sold at Rs70 per kg; cabbage at Rs60 per kg, bringle is being available at Rs50-60 per kg. Capsicum was priced at Rs100 per kg; a bundle of radish is being sold at Rs20, cucumber available at Rs60-70 per kg. Bitter gourd (Karela) is being sold at Rs70-80 per kg.

According to survey, prices of live chicken/meat are remained unchanged as available at Rs156 per kg. A dozen of farm eggs are being sold within range of Rs100-110 and Rs120 in the local market. Cow meat is being sold at Rs350-400 and Rs450 per kg,

It was witnessed the prices of flour has increased sharply in local market as 20-kg bag is being available at Rs1000-1050 which was being sold at Rs950-960 per 20-kg bag. Similarly, price of 85-kg bag also increased at Rs4200-4300 in local market.

Fresh milk is being sold at Rs120-130 per litre against the official fixed price of Rs90 per litre. Similarly, yogurt was available at Rs100-120 per kg against the official fixed price of Rs80 per kg.
