The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday approved the bail of four co-accused in embezzlement of public funds worth Rs 5.75 billion in Information Department of Sindh. A division bench of the SHC reserved the judgment on bail plea of Zaulfiqar Shalwani, Yousaf Kaboro, Altaf Memon and Sarang Latif Chandio, who are co-accused in the case along with main accused Sharjeel Inam Memon, former Sindh Information Minister, who is already on bail.

Court announcing the judgment approved the bail of the four co-accused against surety of Rs 1 million each. Court ordered to put the names of the accused on ECL, whose trial is under way in an accountability court. Shaukat Hayyat Advocate, counsel for the accused told the court that reference against his clients has been going since 2016 in the accountability court and it has yet to decide it. He pleaded that there is no reason to deny the bail to his clients when the main accused Sharjeel Memon is already on a bail.
