Firmness prevailed on the money market on Friday as the rupee moved slightly versus the dollar, dealers said.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee almost maintained the overnight levels against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 155.65 and Rs 155.67, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee held the last levels in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 155.50 and Rs 155.80, they said. The national currency was trading versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 172.80 and Rs 174.80, they said.
In the final Asian trade, The dollar traded near a three-week low versus the yen on Friday before a US employment report expected to show a slowdown in job creation, highlighting concerns about the health of the world's largest economy.
The US currency also nursed losses against the euro and the pound after Bloomberg reported that Chinese officials have doubts about reaching a comprehensive long-term solution to the U.S.-Sino trade war.
The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 70.910, the greenback was available at 4.170 versus the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was at 7.043 in terms of terms of the Chinese yuan.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth on buying side while it stayed firmed on selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Friday.
During the trading session, the greenback lost 20 paisas and ended further lower for buying at Rs 155.20 against the opening rate of Rs 155.00 whereas it remained unchanged for selling at Rs 155.65, local currency dealers said.
Furthermore, the national currency maintained declining trend for the fourth consecutive day against the pound sterling. The pound's buying and selling rates further improved from the Thursday's closing of Rs 200.10 and Rs 200.80 to Rs 200.20 and Rs 201.50 respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 10 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs 156 (buying) and Rs 156.10 (selling) against last rate of Rs 155.90 (buying) and Rs 156 (selling).
It closed at Rs 156 (buying) and Rs 156.10 (selling).
The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs 87,500 (selling) and Rs 87,000 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
