The anti-theft Task Force teams of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) Peshawar along with the officers of district administration, personnel of FIA Peshawar and local Police conducted raids in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the anti-theft operations in Peshawar and surrounding localities, the teams detected theft of 469mmcf gas amounting to Rs.374 million and disconnected gas supply to various illegal connections.
The disconnections were 23 illegal connections of wedding halls, power generation units and tandoors. The operation was conducted in Achini, Safaid Dheri, Pishtakhara, Bazaid Kalay, Kagawala, Urmurh, Badabair and other areas 1780 illegal connections disconnect and 970 tempered meters have also been removed.
According to a spokesman, the teams of task force have also disconnected 171 illegal sui gas connections in different areas of district Charsadda including Matta Mughal Khel, Rajar, Torangzai, Dolatpura, Sherpao and also removed 412 tempered meters.
Meanwhile, a task force team of district Karak disconnected 413 illegal pipelines and removed 291 connections from Bannu, Kohat, D I Khan and Lakki Marwat districts.
