The joint opposition on Thursday slammed the government for 'making a mockery of the legislative process'.
The joint opposition belonging to all political parties, especially PPP, PML-N, JUI-F and others led by Khawaja Asif of PML-N said that they would bring a no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker for 'reducing the parliament into a joke'.
Referring to the approval of 11 out of 15 bills that were presented in National Assembly, he said whatever happened that day is an insult to the National Assembly.
"The government wrapped up proceedings in 20 to 25 minutes and postponed proceedings of the assembly," Asif said.
He paid tributes to the workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) who are taking part in the 'Azadi March' sit-in, saying there is no other solution to get rid of the government.
Referring to the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide tents and food to the participants of 'Azadi March' in the wake of heavy downpour in the capital, he said that 'chairman CDA [Capital Development Authority] was told to look after participants of the march, but instead the CDA officials are eating the food brought by 'Azadi March' participants for themselves.
Asif accused the government of creating hurdles for the 'Azadi March' participants, saying that water supply to public mosques near Azadi March has been cut off.
"Internet services have been disrupted in areas close to the march while the Prime Minister pretends to help the marchers," he regretted.
Asif alleged that the government had instructed public hospitals not to treat participants of the 'Azadi March' sit-in, which is 'inhumane'.
Separately, Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Health, Dr Zafar Mirza said that the Pakistan Medical Commission Bill has been passed through National Assembly with great majority.
Talking to media outside the Parliament on Thursday, he said the bill will enhance the respect for medical education and institutions.
He said Pakistan medical Tribunal Ordinance has also been passed by the National Assembly, adding that under the new procedure the credibility of Pakistani medics will be increased.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry criticised JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that the protest poses no threat to government and Islamabad.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashqi Awan said that JUI-F chief is enjoying halwa at home, while the participants are dying of cold under the open sky.
She said if the Maulana is brave, he should stay with the marchers like Imran khan did in 2014, adding that leaders should realize the agonies and the problems of their followers.
