The Karachi Port handled 144,789 tonnes of cargo comprising 99,661 tonnes of import cargo and 45,128 tonnes of export cargo including 3,574 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargos of 99,661 tonnes comprised of 31,844 tonnes of containerised cargo; 9,398 tonnes of DPA and 58,419 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargos of 45,128 tonnes comprised of 24,987 tonnes of containerised cargo; 300 tonnes of bulk cargo; 14,415 tonnes of clinker; 5,426 tonnes of cement and nil tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

As many as 3,574 containers comprising of 2,256 containers import and 1,318 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers shows 559 of 20's and 826 of 40's loaded while 31 of 20's and 07 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 624 of 20's and 342 of 40's loaded containers while 08 of 20's and 01 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.

There were five ships namely Kota Kaya, Ever Decent, Cape Male, Oriental Lotus and Golden Tulip carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.

There were six vessels viz. Xpress Annapurna, APL England, Coral Star, Clemens Schulte, Kota Kaya ans Elandra Spruce carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 118,996 tonnes comprising 108,888 tonnes of import cargo and 10,108 tonnes of export cargo including 2,551 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 108,888 tonnes includes 54,560 tonnes of coal; 9,300 tonnes of palm oil; 4,160 tonnes of canola; 2,500 tonnes of chemical and 38,368 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 10,108 tonnes includes 10,108 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,551 containers comprising of 2,019 containers import and 532 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

There was one ship namely MSC Marianna carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely MSC Bilbao carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of eight ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, canola, chemical and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

As many as nine vessels viz. Pan Ceres, Morea, IVS Haya Kita, Stella Island, Chemroad Hawk, Al Nouman, Nord Nepton, The Odosia and GBU Onyk carrying soyabean, coal, chemical, LNG, mogas and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were five ships viz. CSAV Tyndall, Maersk Columbus, IVS Haya Kita, Stella Island and Tom Ismini carrying containers, coal and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There were two ships namely CSAV Tyndall and Maersk Columbus carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely MOL Generosity carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
