Many celebrities, mostly females, have come up with their stories of depression. However, Pakistani actor Faysal Qureshi has raised an important issue about depression in men, saying that it’s not about the genders or stereotypes and instead it is about reaching out to the affected.
On the occasion of ‘World Kindness Day’, Faysal said in an Instagram post, “Did you know, men are more prone to be affected by depression than women, while they choose to remain it hidden. This isn't about genders or stereotypes, this is about reaching out. A person might be going through a lot even though they don't choose to show it. Let's be kind online to our male friends, they have it rough sometimes and let's remind them, they aren't alone”.
Among many other male celebrities, actor Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, Jim Carrey, Brad Pitt, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Imran Abbas have also suffered from depression.
While, female celebrities like Anushka Sharma, Ileana D'Cruz, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Momina Mustehsan and Juggan Kazmi have also opened up about their depressing phase of their lives.
